Camouflage Sound started in Long Island N.Y. in 1996. We started in the local clubs and backyard parties. Our ambition was to enter the dancehall circuit and juggle and clash with the best in the business. We couldn't compete in a war without dubs so we as 16 yr olds drove to Brooklyn and cut our first dubplate. We cut was Spragga Benz "tell mi bout war" in the famous Don One studio and Don 1 himself asked us if we were sure if wanted to cut such a warish song as our first dub but, our minds were made up and from then on our passion for war was undeniable. We grew up listening to Jaro,Metromedia,Bass Oddysey, King Addies, and Stone Love. I would have to say these cassettes influnced us greatly. Due to other priorities we parked the sound and went on to college to persue higher education. Around 2001 we dusted off our records and sound, strung up, and decided to start voice tune and touch the road. From 2001 until present we have been cutting dubs, juggling longside some of the biggest sounds in the business and clashing whenever the opportunity arises. We decided that considering Long Island didn't have a war sound to represent we would fill those shoes clashing and juggling with the desire to become a sound that Long Island can be proud of. We have traveled throughout the U.S. as well as Jamaica but plan to travel more extensively killing sounds or juggling for the ladies and gentlemen. We have expanded to Florida with selectors in Miami and Panama City. Our ultimate goal is to become a champion sound, a force to be reckoned whether juggling for parties or clashing. Big up Scarface, Kriss Kapone, A-Plus, Mr Vibes, DJ Hex, Boogie, Selecta K.P. Supa, Struggler, and the boss Tummy Tums. Finally I would like to give thanks to all the fans, the Camouflage ladies, and all the non believers.
